Pricing
One flat fee. Not a percentage.
ratato's own fee is a fixed amount per paid registration, in your own currency β not a cut of your ticket price. We can charge this little because ratato runs on modern, pay-per-use cloud infrastructure instead of a fleet of always-on servers, so there's no idle hosting bill to spread across your registrants.
Early-access pricing
We're onboarding our first organizers, so our standard fee of 30 SEK ($3) per registration is discounted to 10 SEK ($1) for now β no code needed, it's already the price shown below. We'll give existing organizers advance notice before this offer ends.
| Country | Currency | Standard fee | Your price now |
|---|---|---|---|
| πΊπΈUnited States | USD | $3.00 | $1.00Early access |
| πΈπͺSweden | SEK | 30.00 kr | 10.00 krEarly access |
The fee is charged once per paid registration, on top of whatever price you set β it doesn't scale with your ticket price, and it's the same whether a registration costs 20 or 200. Not your currency or country? Reach out β we're adding more as organizers need them.
Worked example
Where a registrant's payment actually goes
Say you set your entry price at 400.00 kr. ratato's fee is added on top of that at checkout, as its own visible line item β the registrant pays your price plus our fee, never a silent cut out of what you asked for. Stripe then takes its own processing fee from that total charge before the rest lands in your Stripe balance.
| Your price | ratato fee (added on top) | Registrant pays | Stripe fee (est.) | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $40.00 | +$1.00 | $41.00 | β$1.19 | $38.81 |
| 400.00 kr | +10.00 kr | 410.00 kr | β11.89 kr | 388.11 kr |
You receive your price minus only Stripe's own processing fee β ratato's fee comes entirely from the extra amount the registrant paid on top, never out of the price you set. Stripe's fee is charged directly by Stripe to your account, not by ratato β actual rates vary by country and card type; the ~2.9% shown here is a representative example, not a quote.
Your money, your account
Registrants pay you. Directly.
Every registration runs through your own connected Stripe account via Stripe Connect β not ratato's. We never hold your money, so there's no payout schedule to wait on and no platform sitting between you and your funds.
- β Funds settle straight into your Stripe balance, on Stripe's normal payout timing to your bank, same as any other charge you take yourself.
- β Refunds and disputes are yours to handle directly in your own Stripe account β never a support ticket to us.
- β Every transaction is visible in your own Stripe dashboard, not just inside ratato.
- β ratato's fee is deducted from the same charge, in the same currency, at the moment of payment β never a separate invoice or a balance you owe us later.
Taxes
VAT and Stripe's own fees
VAT on ratato's fee isn't added on top of the amounts shown above β the fee is quoted and charged as a flat figure, with no VAT broken out today. Whether VAT eventually applies depends on your organization's country and VAT-registration status; we'll confirm the treatment with you directly before it changes anything on your invoice. Reach out if you need this confirmed for your own accounting before you sign up.
VAT on your own registration price is a separate, self-reported setting per event (your VAT/Tax ID and a per-event rate) β ratato doesn't calculate or apply it for you, since whether entry fees are VAT-liable at all depends on your organization's legal form and country, not ratato's. See the organizer guide for how that works.
Stripe's own processing fee is separate from both of the above β Stripe charges it directly to your connected account on every charge you take, at Stripe's own published rates for your country and card mix, and it's never collected or marked up by ratato.
